A List of the Top Ten Google Trend Searches In a Year
The background
I consider this information invaluable! Initially the idea was to analyse the data and find a niche keyword which would effectively make a lot of money. I am still yet to do this, but I know my keyword is in there somewhere, I just need to search.
Anyway, lets get onto business shall we? I'll let you in on a little secret.
The Master Plan
Since February the 19th 2010 I have been collecting data from Google Trends into an online database. Each hour information was scraped from Google Trends into a database and time stamped with a date and time. Below I have revealed the keywords which appeared most on Google Trends since last year.
10. "glenn beck rally"
Thousands gathered in Washington DC for a rally organised by the conservative television presenter Glenn Beck. But who were they and why did they come?
9. "leslie nielsen"
Veteran comic actor Leslie Nielsen, star of Airplane! and The Naked Gun, has died at the age of 84.

8. "leslie nelson"
Same keyword but spelling incorrect. Makes you wonder how much this happens, and if it could be capitalized on.
7. "bear gall bladder uses"
Believe it or not, this was number 7 in the top Google Trend searches since last year. I think there was talk about medical benefits although I never really looked it up. Ill let you make your own mind up about this.
6. "spiderman on broadway"
It appears people are hyped about Spiderman on Broadway. Tickets are still available and the show is still not ready to launch.
5. "sam elliott"
This is a very recent one due to his appearance on the Super Bowl.

Anita Baker (born December 20, 1957) is an American jazz and soul singer-songwriter. To date, Baker has won eight Grammy Awards, and has four platinum albums and two gold albums to her credit.
2. "family watch dog"
Family Watchdog is a free tool allowing the public to keep their family informed and aware of different dangers in their area. Obviously a popular choice among parents, this could indicate that most of Google's user's are parents? Or at least a lot of parents are using Google.
1. "mega millions winning numbers"
Conclusion
What can I say? We all want to make millions of dollars!
Maybe this indicates that the majority of the population wants to make money the easy way. It does make me chuckle inside that this is the most searched term picked up by Google last year. Are we all that desperate to be millionaires, and does money really make the world go around?
Thanks for reading, if you can come up with any other suggestions how I can use the data I have collected please let me know. Also let me know your thoughts on my article.

very interesting. hard to believe that this obscure items were the most searched. i didn't even search for one of those
Very interesting, I wouldn't have suspected these to be so popularly searched!
Now, if only we could predict what people will be searching for not in the past but in the FUTURE.. that is of course where all the money is to be made.
@PurpleOne - The idea was to find a consistently searched keyword based on the time stamps, one which time would not matter to.
5 stars article.
